Winsor & Newton Lifting Preparation Watercolor Medium prevents watercolor from sinking into the painting surface permanently. It allows for easy removal of watercolor, using a wet brush or sponge, with minimal or no traces. This is helpful for later corrections or when certain effects are intended, such as lifting highlights and creating fine details.

This watercolor medium should be applied directly to paper prior to painting and allowed to dry completely before painting.
