Batik is a wax-resist technique for producing designs and patterns on fabric. Wax is applied to the fabric with a brush, tjanting tool, or stamp prior to dyeing to keep the color from reaching the fiber. After coloring, the wax is removed.
Jacquard Batik Wax is a 75/25 blend of Jacquard Paraffin Wax and Jacquard Yellow Beeswax. It has better adhesion to fabric, less brittleness than paraffin alone and is easier to remove from the fabric than pure beeswax. The blend also allows for more controlled cracking effects.
