Golden GAC 900 Acrylic Polymer Fabric Painting Medium

Golden

$24.49 - $33.99

Golden GACs are made to be blended with Golden Acrylic Paints to extend the paint, regulate transparency, create glazes, increase gloss, reduce viscosity, or improve adhesion and film integrity. GAC polymers can also be used for binding pigment solids for various effects and surfaces. Unlike other Golden Mediums & Gels, GAC Acrylic Polymers have a minimum amount of thickeners, levelers, defoamers, and surfactants to ensure good film formation. The consistency of GAC polymers is very fluid and thinner compared to other Golden mediums.

Each GAC product represents a unique polymer that offers specific attributes. Therefore, each GAC has its own unique benefits and applications.

Golden GAC 900 Acrylic Polymer Fabric Painting Medium is a liquid acrylic medium that is made to be blended with artist acrylics to create fabric paints intended for use on fabrics, textiles, and garments that need to hold up to repeated laundering cycles. GAC 900 is designed to be blended with standard artist acrylic paints, such as Golden Heavy Body Acrylics. Start at a 1:1 mixing ratio of paint to GAC 900 and adjust as needed to modify the consistency for the type of paint application. The amount of GAC 900 may also be increased to improve softness of hand (such as when working on delicate fabrics).

GAC 900 requires heat setting to fuse GAC into the fabric and improve the "hand" or softness of the laundered garment. Apply paints as desired and allow the paint to dry well before heat setting. The temperature setting and heating duration impact how well the paints will remain in the garment during repeated wash/dry cycles. Make sure to properly ventilate your workspace when heat setting GAC 900.

Tip: GAC polymers are intended for use as binders, modifiers, or additives for acrylic paints. They are not intended for use as a final varnish. GAC polymers should be gently stirred or rocked back and forth prior to use, not shaken which may affect the transparency of the film causing a foggy or hazy quality.
