Yasutomo Sumi Sketch Pads are rice paper pads made of Kozo and Hosho fibers. Kozo is the principal fiber used in most Japanese papers and is noted for its length, strength, and fineness. Hosho is a highly refined Kozo paper noted for its thickness, strength, and fluffiness. Both styles are known for their resistance to shrinkage.

These pads make excellent student sumi-e painting sketch pads. Great for use in Sumi-E, calligraphy, and paper crafts. Printmakers like its absorbency, strength, and versatility for monoprinting and gel printing. Painters love it for ink, watercolor, and lettering. Artists also use it for rubbing techniques, suminagashi, and momigami. The paper features long fibers, making these pads strong enough to hold up to a variety of art processes. One side is very smooth and the reverse has a rough finish.

Each pad measures 12 1/8″ x 18 1/4” x 7/32” and contains 48 sheets of 11.6 oz (45 gsm) paper.
