Richeson Liquid Masque is a block out medium to be used when an artist is painting with water based paint (watercolor, gouache, casein, tempera, or acrylic). The Liquid Masque is applied directly to the support (prior to painting) in any area where the artist wants the paper or canvas to eventually show through. After the paint has dried, the liquid masque is lifted by lightly abrading with a finger tip or rubber cement pick up - exposing the area beneath.
