Jacquard Damar Resin are resin crystals from trees found in the East Indies. It is used for hardening Jacquard White Beeswax by raising its melting temperature when used for encaustic painting applications.

If making your own encaustic medium, because this damar is in its raw state (from a tree), it must be melted with Jacquard White Beeswax and strained to remove impurities.

Well-experienced oil painters also melt damar resin crystals in turpentine to make varnish.

Melting point: 212 - 302°F / 100 - 150°C.

Available in an 8 oz bag.

Use in a well-ventilated area.
