Golden

Golden GACs are made to be blended with Golden Acrylic Paints to extend the paint, regulate transparency, create glazes, increase gloss, reduce viscosity, or improve adhesion and film integrity. GAC polymers can also be used for binding pigment solids for various effects and surfaces. Unlike other Golden Mediums & Gels, GAC Acrylic Polymers have a minimum amount of thickeners, levelers, defoamers, and surfactants to ensure good film formation. The consistency of GAC polymers is very fluid and thinner compared to other Golden mediums.

Each GAC product represents a unique polymer that offers specific attributes. Therefore, each GAC has its own unique benefits and applications.

Golden GAC 200 Acrylic Polymer Film Hardness Increaser
is the least flexible GAC polymer. It is a 100% acrylic polymer used to increase film hardness and adhesion to non-porous, rigid supports. When cured, GAC 200 provides low surface tack and high gloss. It is a popular additive for mural painting to improve durability and weatherability.

It is not recommended to use GAC 200 on flexible supports. Caution is advised when using GAC 200 on canvas, linen, or paper, as rolling or flexing may lead to cracking. When used on rigid supports, GAC 200 is useful in color blends for hard edge techniques and provides less "pull" when masking tape is removed, promoting sharper edges.

Tip: GAC polymers are intended for use as binders, modifiers, or additives for acrylic paints. They are not intended for use as a final varnish. GAC polymers should be gently stirred or rocked back and forth prior to use, not shaken which may affect the transparency of the film causing a foggy or hazy quality.
