DIY Decorations: Golden Laurel Wreath
This DIY was inspired by Modern Glam's gold laurel wreath DIY blog. We love a pop of gold and thought Montana GOLD Chrome Metallic Spray Paints would be the perfect fit for this festive wreath.
What you need:
Montana GOLD Chrome Metallic Spray Paint - Metallic Goldchrome
Fake leaves, pine cone(s), twigs
Embroidery hoop
1. Start by
spray painting your hoop, leaves and feathers. While waiting for the paint to
dry, take a small brush and apply Mod Podge to each tip on the pine cone. Add
glitter to the tips while the Mod Podge is still tacky.
2. Once the
spray paint has dried, start laying out the leaves and feathers around the hoop
and pick a pattern for how you want each leaf and feather to lay.
Pro
tip: cutting off the quills on each feather will give you more freedom and
flexibility when layering them in between leaves.
3. Use a hot
glue gun to adhere the leaves and feathers to your hoop. Once you're finished
and all the glue has dried, gently glue the pine cone to the bottom center of
the hoop. You’ll have to hold the pine cone in place until the glue has dried
completely.
Pro tip: take a thin piece of wire and loop it through
the pine cone and hoop, adding some extra security.
