Caran d'Ache Neocolor I Wax Pastels are water-resistant and often referred to as the "Swiss Army Knife" of pastels, due to their versatility. Add color and intensity to your sketches, figure drawings, and portraits on a variety of materials including paper, cardboard, glass, leather, wood, stone, and more.
These high quality wax pastels meet the exacting standards of fine artists, illustrators, graphic artists, and art teachers. They perform somewhere between a wax stick and an oil stick. Caran d'Ache Neocolor I Wax Pastels are soft and easy to work with resulting in brilliant color, exceptional covering power, and excellent lightfastness.
They can be used dry, heated for encaustic techniques, as well as for wax-resist techniques with watercolors. Water-resistant wax pastels are soluble in turpentine.
