Ampersand Claybord Panels have an ultra-smooth, absorbent clay surface that allows for mixed media techniques such as etching, erasing, reworking, adding color, and scratching to add contrast, texture, and fine detail. They are made using 1/8" true artist hardboard and features Ampersand’s kaolin clay ground formula, similar in paintability to the clay gesso grounds used during the Renaissance.
These panels are perfect for mixed media, ink, acrylic, graphite, fine detail, heavy impasto, collage, airbrush, gouache, egg tempera, scratchboard, printmaking techniques, mounting, and more. Claybord's absorbent coating will result in oil paints drying very rapidly and to a matte finish.
